When patients enter the Genesis HealthCare System Cancer Care Center that opened in January 2015, they not only see but feel the difference right away as we embrace them with open arms.

At the core of our care is the notion that each staff member—whether a physician, nurse, patient navigator, nutritionist, palliative care specialist, therapist, pharmacist or registration staff member—has a merciful heart for patients who are dealing with cancer and their families. That’s why everyone at the Cancer Care Center wraps their arms around patients and their families with our unique brand of “WrapAround” care.

When we were designing the Genesis Cancer Care Center, we sought input from our patients, doctors and caregivers to ensure patients and their families would have the best possible experience. In the new center, patients are greeted at the door by welcoming staff and escorted to a private room where doctors and caregivers come to them. Testing is done on-site and results are usually available the same day. Patients leave with their appointments made and immediate access to someone who can answer all their questions, day or night.

For patients who need chemotherapy, the Cancer Care Center’s light-filled infusion suite wraps them in a soothing, private pod overlooking a fitness trail. For those who need radiation treatment, our advanced radiation technologies include high-dose treatments that pinpoint tumors without damaging patients’ healthy tissue. Genetic testing and access to the same groundbreaking clinical trials found at large metropolitan hospitals both are available at the cancer center. We treat nearly every type of adult cancer, including late-stage and aggressive cancers requiring the very latest treatment options.
